The Chesterfield Republican Victory office is currently searching for students interested in learning more about campaigning and effective public communications. Student interns will gain invaluable knowledge about the democratic process and work to become adept communicators through hands on experience with elected officials, candidates, and the general public.

The internship opportunities for this Spring and Summer are open to any student; however, they must apply and be accepted. Hours are flexible, but students must be able to commit to at least 5 hours per week. The 2012 Election Cycle promises to be action packed with the Presidential elections, one US Senate seat, and 11 US Congressional seats undergoing elections. Eligible students will be provided with academic credit or service hours. While these positions are unpaid, they will provide political opportunities not available elsewhere and upon completion of the program, a letter of recommendation to a future employer or college will be provided.

Interns will be expected to assist the Chesterfield Republican Victory office with:

• Office Management
• Fundraising and Research
• Data Entry
• Outreach Activities
• Voter Contacts
• Interaction with Campaigns
• Grassroots Organizing
• Event Planning
• Membership Recruitment

A commitment to Republican politics is not necessary, only the willingness to learn about the election and grassroots campaign support process.

We look forward to working with your students and receiving their applications. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 804-514-8240 or e-mail cedmunds@rpv.org.

Graduation 2013 Planning Meeting

To the Moms/Parents of Rising Seniors (Class of 2013):

Please plan to attend a brief meeting following our Arete End of the Year Celebration next Friday, May 25 (approximately 1:30 to 2?).
We will discuss and begin making decisions to select the date and which speakers to invite for the 2013 Arete Graduation.
We will also set a date for a planning session with our students in order for them to make selections necessary to create the graduation ceremony and celebration they desire.

We look forward to planning this exciting event with you.

Sincerely,

Sharon Filegar and Wendy Hale
